Commemorating World Wetlands Day

We are incredibly proud of our Zero Waste Foundation and Don’t Waste Group teams in South Africa for their hard work in the clean-up of the Hennops River in Clubview, Centurion in support of World Wetlands Day.

Championed by our partner The Hennops Revival, the clean-up was a resounding success with over 2000 bags of waste collected from the area.

Why is World Wetlands Day important?

The event aims to raise public awareness on the benefits of wetlands, and to promote the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands. The benefits of wetlands include: improving water quality, lessening erosion of soil, habitats for various species of birds and other animals, flood abatement and water supply.
