Managing tenant waste in a large office park, whilst ensuring compliance, transparency and accuracy, is challenging. Don’t Waste has worked closely with a 1.8 million square feet business campus in London, to provide customised waste reports for the management and their high profile tenants, aligned to the exceptional service management that the office park is renowned for.
The Office Park sought a system that could deliver quality and accurate data on the waste collections of each tenant. This would then be extracted into advanced reports, detailing the waste footprint and recycling performance of individual tenants and the buildings they occupy as a whole. In addition, it was a requirement for the reports to be customised to incorporate the internal reporting standards of individual tenants. To drive change in behaviour, the data and reports would be used to encourage responsible conduct, through a friendly competitive ranking system amongst tenants and buildings.
Don’t Waste implemented its sophisticated waste management system after a 3-month free trial. Waste generated from each tenant, from their respective buildings, was accurately weighed and recorded through The Don’t Waste advanced mobile software application. Tenants were grouped into categories best fit to their operations/service offerings, allowing for comparative analysis of waste and recycling performance, and awarding of certificates to the top performers.
The success of the system implementation has additionally paved the way for the business campus to utilize the full suite of Don’t Waste’s waste minimisation software, which will create fairness and transparency in the billing process of all tenants going forward.
